The John Howard Society of Okanagan & Kootenay delivers the Probation Outreach program in Kelowna in partnership with the BC Ministry of Justice. The program helps people meet their legal obligations while also addressing what they need to move forward. The outreach worker acts as a consistent point of contact who knows the resources available and can help connect people to them. All referrals come through BC Community Corrections.
The Program
Support for adults on probation referred by BC Community Corrections.
Probation Outreach
Assistance meeting legal orders and planning under the direction of a Probation Officer.
Help seeking and securing employment.
Help finding and acquiring affordable housing.
Assistance with applications for income assistance or disability benefits.
Connections to local resources such as recreation centres and community programs.
Bus tickets and assistance getting to probation appointments and other important meetings.
Location: 1440 St. Paul Street, Kelowna.
Eligibility
Probation Outreach is open to:
Adults 18+ currently on probation.
Referred by the Kelowna office of BC Community Corrections.
Self-referrals are not accepted.
